It started with an ordinary TPU soft label.
The client was a premium sports accessories brand, where products are built around one core idea: touch — soft, skin-friendly, and flexible. But when they tried to add branding onto their woven straps, they ran into a deceptively simple yet repeatedly frustrating problem:

They tried standard ribbons. The color transferred, but it didn’t look “gold” enough — more like a yellowish print.
They also tested other metallic ribbons, but the transfer was incomplete. With slight bending, parts of the print would crack or peel off.

The first test was done on a white TPU strap. Expectations were modest — TPU combined with metallic effects is widely known in the industry as a difficult pairing.

“Can it deliver a premium feel?”
What ultimately convinced the client, however, was not just the ribbon itself.
